About Show Working

Show Working is a GCSE revision app for iPhone and iPad, made by Boroto Ltd, a small company in the United Kingdom. It starts with maths, with English Literature and the sciences to follow.

"Show your working" is what GCSE maths papers ask for, because many of the marks are for the method, not just the final answer. The app is built around that: every question comes with a full worked answer, one step at a time.

Show Working on iPad: today's set, this week's streak and topics worth a look

01 / How questions are madeAnd checked

Our own questions, worked out by code

Every question is our own. Each kind of question is a small program that makes a fresh question every time, and every answer is computed with exact arithmetic, never guessed.

Before each release, every kind of question is checked thousands of times against a separate maths library. On 22 October 2026 that check ran 72,000 questions across all 36 kinds and found 0 problems. If you ever spot one that looks wrong, Report a wrong question under it sends us a code that shows us exactly the same question.

Topics follow the Department for Education's GCSE maths subject content, published under the Open Government Licence. Show Working is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, AQA, Pearson Edexcel, OCR or WJEC Eduqas, and does not use their papers or mark schemes.
