What happens in a quick mock

12 questions, easier first

Drawn from every topic in the app, easier ones first, like a real paper.

A 20 minute timer

It keeps running if you leave the app, just as the exam clock would.

No calculator, no hints

And no answers until you hand in. Find somewhere quiet for 20 minutes.

Write your working

A working pad on iPad, or paper and a pen next to your phone.

Every answer worked out

Once you hand in, each question shows the answer and its working.

An honest score

Say whether you stuck to the rules. If not, the mock counts as practice.

02 / Track itWeek by week

An honest trend, not a flattering one

The app cannot watch you, and it does not try to. It counts how many times you left the app and asks whether you stuck to the rules. Mocks you did not finish under the rules are kept as practice and left out of your progress.

Your mock scores appear on the Me page as a simple chart, and every mock is listed with its score, so you can see whether you are improving.

What is a mock paper in Show Working?

A quick mock is 12 questions in 20 minutes with exam rules: no hints, no calculator, and the clock keeps running if you leave the app. At the end you say honestly whether you stuck to the rules. A full 90-minute paper will follow once every GCSE topic is in the app.

Can I track my mock scores?

Yes. Your mock scores appear on the Me page as a simple chart, and every mock is listed on the Mocks page with its score and whether you stuck to the rules.

Why is there an honest question at the end of a mock?

The app cannot watch you, and it does not try to. It counts how many times you left the app and asks whether you stuck to the rules. If you did not, the mock is kept as practice and left out of your progress, so your trend shows what you can really do.
